Maine Passive House was founded by Danish native Jesper Kruse. In 2006, while spending a year in Denmark with his young family, Jesper heard about the passive house standard. He realized that the energy savings associated with passive house construction, as well as the increased comfort, healthfulness and longevity of the homes would be the wave of the future. When he returned to the U.S., Jesper formed Maine Passive House, and became a certified passive house consultant.
Ten years later Maine Passive House is a national leader in passive house design and construction and has developed proven systems that are uniquely designed for the northern climate.
The most important asset to any business is its employees. Maine Passive House strives to create a healthy and safe work environment where employees are respected as part of a team and compensated fairly. We enjoy working together, share a love of building and enjoy seeing happy clients in their new homes.
Our strengths lie in mastering traditional craftsmanship, having a thorough knowledge of building science, and meticulous planning and organization.
Maine Passive House is recognized as a leader in the passive house community and constantly work to further our knowledge of the latest techniques, materials and developments. Maine Passive House has two certified passive house consultants on staff and we are corporate members of PassivhausMAINE and the North East Sustainable Energy Association.
