Design Maine Passive House

A couple with young kids needed more room in their homestead and Maine Passive House was brought in to help.  We designed and built a new primary bedroom and bath as well as a small home office. Rather than expanding the original heating system to incorporate the addition, we built a passive House envelope that can be heated with simple electric resistance heat.

A fresh air ventilation system with heat recovery was installed in the main house at the same time. The result is a seamless addition which gives the family the extra room they need.
